Following declarations on April 1 by the Governor’s office and the Cass County Judge’s office implementing “Shelter in Place” orders, your Cooperative has made more adjustments and is taking strong precautions in order to help stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
It is a top priority of the Cooperative for employees and their families to stay safe and healthy. In order to best protect them and still maintain the essential business of providing reliable electricity, employees hours have been staggered, social distancing is being practiced, crews are riding in separate vehicles, and employees are being isolated as much as possible. In addition, all non-essential work of the cooperative has stopped. Essential work will continue as usual; Servicemen will restore outages, set meters, repair lines on the ground, trees on the line, check voltage and other emergency calls. We will have limited resources in Member Services so on-hold times may increase. We encourage the use of our automated system for making payments; 903-846-2310.
As this crisis has caused a financial hardship on many of our members, your Cooperative will continue to work with each member individually. Late fees have been waived and the “suspended disconnection” policy continues. Member Services is working with individual members to create deferred payment plans. If you need help with any issue, call them at 903-846-2311.
As we practice Social Distancing, we encourage our members to do the same. Although the Night Drop at the office and all remote payment locations are still available, we encourage you to stay home and use the Mobile App on your smartphones or the Member Portal at www.bcec.com to make payments.
Working together I am confident we can all get through this safely!
