This is an entry-level position into member services working directly under the supervision of the Director of Member Services learning the cooperative business model, policies and procedures.

The MEMBER SERVICES TRAINEE shall be required to perform any other duties assigned in order to fulfill the objectives of the Cooperative.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
MEMBER SERVICES TRAINEE
Job Knowledge, Training and Experience:
a. High school diploma or equivalent.
b. Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and the ability to maintain member information confidentiality.
c. Must have a basic understanding of the coop CIS software, policies and procedures.
d. Must have good oral and written communication skills required to communicate policies and other information to the members. Ability to speak and write fluently in Spanish is necessary.
e. Will be required to perform a variety of mathematical calculations in the completion of duties.
f. Previous office experience with customer relations is preferable.
g. A person will be required to spend a minimum of 6 months in this position prior to being considered for a promotion.
Equipment Operated: General office equipment including a pc or thin client, ten-key, copier/fax/scanner and debit card swipe machine.
Abilities and Skills: A high degree of professionalism is required, along with the necessity of member information confidentiality. Must have a pleasant demeanor coupled with a willingness to help meet the members’ needs. All transactions must be carried out with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Physical Effort: Must be able to perform the activities as listed in the position description. Activities are performed at a counter, computer terminal and desk. Sitting, walking and standing are normally used in carrying out the assigned duties.
Working Conditions: Office environment and occasionally in the field for training exercises. This will strictly be for observation.

After an offer of employment has been made, a physical is required which will include both drug and alcohol testing.
